The Jones Beach Light Show has become a staple of the holiday season on Long Island, and this year’s event is sure to be just as dazzling as ever. With over a million LED lights and a wide variety of interactive attractions, the light show is a must-see for anyone looking to get into the holiday spirit.
The main attraction of the light show is the drive-through tour, which takes visitors on a magical journey through a winter wonderland. Along the way, visitors will see sparkling lights, towering Christmas trees, and festive holiday scenes. Some of the highlights of the tour include a giant Christmas tree, a nativity scene, a toy workshop, and a reindeer stable.
In addition to the traditional light displays, the Jones Beach Light Show also features a holiday market with local crafts and goodies, a hot cocoa stand, and a visit with Santa Claus. Children will love the opportunity to sit on Santa’s lap and tell him their Christmas wishes, while adults can enjoy the festive atmosphere and get their holiday shopping done at the same time.
The light show runs from November through January, and tickets can be purchased online or at the gate. With so much to see and do, the Jones Beach Light Show is the perfect way to kick off the holiday season. And with the light show’s convenient location at the Beach, visitors can enjoy the beauty of the light show while also taking in the natural beauty of the surrounding area. While gifts are certainly exciting, an important aspect of the Holiday Season is making memories and trying new experiences with loved ones. Luckily, there is an out of this world, festive experience that awaits just a short drive away!
The Magic of Lights at Jones Beach State Park is a drive-through holiday light show that features scenes and characters from your favorite holidays. Using LED lights and digital animations, the Magic of Lights provides a dazzling experience that you can enjoy in the comfort of your own car. I recommend playing your favorite christmas tunes while you drive through this sparkling path to further enhance the holiday spirit.
Until December 30th, the attraction is available any time between five and ten throughout the week. Directions can be found on the Magic of Lights website, along with tickets that will be needed for admission into the light show.
After you take in the incredible views of this light show, check out the Toyota Holiday Village. Hungry for a snack? Purchase warm, fresh baked cookies or churros. Order hot chocolate or apple cider at the North Pole Café.
While the food and beverages are tasty at the Holiday Village, its attractions are what makes the experience one to remember. Stop at Santa’s workshop, where you can mail your letters to Santa, or view the Holiday Mega Trees. If you’re craving a delicious smore, you can roast your own smores over the warm fire. I certainly recommend ice skating at the outdoor rink, as this is a perfect way to have fun with your loved ones while also enjoying the holiday spirit!
