Safe Halloween at East

By: Jayden Neidell

On Friday, October 28th, Hills East brought back its usual Halloween celebration, Safe Halloween! On this night, Hills East opens their doors to all children who want to trick or treat in a safe, positive environment. Classrooms were filled with students eager to provide incoming trick-or-treaters with the best experience possible.

Clubs in Hills East each decorated a classroom with their own unique theme, and members of these clubs got in the Halloween spirit themselves and dressed up as characters relating to these themes. Some of these themes include Speech and Debate’s Batman-style room, Science Honors Society’s “mad science” decor, as well as others, such as a Despicable-Me-decorated room, which the kids were guaranteed to love. Each participating club prepared an activity for the students to enjoy in addition to receiving what we all know they came for — the candy.

Other events extended outside of these themed classrooms included an area of fun game activities for the trick-or-treaters to participate in. Additionally, the kids could stop into the West Gym, where the Hills East Dixettes, Cheerleading Team, and Step Club were on a rotating cycle of performances. Each team performed a Halloween-themed routine for the children, which they all seemed to enjoy greatly. Overall, it definitely seems that Hills East brought back Safe Halloween with great success!
