Key Club Hosts Its First School Supply Drive

By: Ellina Koo

Going back to school may be stressful for kids and many experience a mix of different emotions. There’s peer pressure, homework, pop quizzes and tests. But most importantly, 15 million children live in extreme poverty across the U.S. These innocent children face far more basic fears by not having the supplies they need in order to learn, to worrying about what their next meal will be on the weekends. Because of this, Hills East’s Key Club has decided to hold its first school supply drive this year to help unprivileged students to be able to obtain equal opportunities for high-quality education.

Here is a list of our most needed school supplies:

-#2 pencils

– erases

– wide ruled notebooks

– crayons and markers

– rulers

– pencil cases

– looseleaf paper

– glue sticks

– backpacks

– pens

– highlighters

– sticky note pads

All donations will proceed to Supplies for Students Foundation. Please spread the word to your friends and family members to contribute in this heartwarming school supply drive. Even just donating one supply could last multiple students until the rest of their school semester!
