The Hills varsity girls swim team proved to be one of the best teams in League 2 of Suffolk County this past fall season. They broke past team records, won their league, and performed incredibly well at States. The Girls swim team have proven themselves to be a threat in Suffolk County.

The League 2 Championship meet was held on October 28th at Sachem North High School. There was a fierce competition between the teams, but luckily, the Hills girls came out on top. Not only did they win the League championship dual meet, the girls were also undefeated in the league, going 5-0. During counties, the 200 meter freestyle relay and 400 meter freestyle relay teams broke the previous school record and qualified for states for both events; these teams consisted of Jennifer Dimaria, Sophia Zhao, Jessica Konsky, and Raya Cohen. The 200 meter free relay team broke the record with a time of 1:41.05 and the 400 free relay went a time of 3:37.14. The talented girls who qualified for states are Sophia Zhao (50 free, 100 free, 200 free relay, 400 free relay), Jennifer Dimaria (100 fly, 200 free relay, 400 free relay), Jessica Konsky (200 free relay, 400 free relay), Raya Cohen (200 free relay, 400 free relay), Vanessa Hsieh (100 backstroke), and Farrah Klein (100 backstroke). States were held at Ithaca College on November 19-20. Yet another successful meet occurred, with the 200 and 400 freestyle relays breaking their respective records again, as the girls came 4th and 5th in the state overall. The 200 meter free relay went a time of 1:39.80 and the 400 free relay went a time of 3:36.27. Sophia Zhao also placed 5th in the state for the 100 free and 7th in the state in the 50 free. A huge congratulations to the team for their impressive performance. The girls team swam their fastest and worked their hardest this season, consistently achieving their goals and setting the bar high with record breaking- scores new best times. Their teammates showed much love and support, and always cheered on their fellow swimmers.
