Hills East Key Club and One World Youth Club’s Children Book Drive

By: Ellina Koo

Recently, the Hills East Key Club and One World Youth Club have collaborated to host a children’s book drive with Book Fairies. Book Fairies is a non profit that aims to distribute books to under-resources communities across New York State to provide equitable opportunities for children. With the help of students and faculty members from Hills East, a total of 550 books were collected. All books were donated towards Book Fairies in order to allow children to learn, grow, and thrive through greater access to books.

Specifical thanks to the members of Key Club for working hard in decorating boxes to put around the school as well as members of the One World Youth Club for distributing book drive flyers around the school building to help gain the most possible donations.

Key Club and One World Youth Club’s book drive has certainly been not only a successful one, but most importantly, members of Hills East were able to give back and contribute to the community in some way for the educational benefits of underprivileged children.
