The sight of a pint of Ben & Jerry’s is truly magical. Packed with a variety of mix-ins and rich, creamy bases, each pint has the power to make any day a good day. Being an ice cream enthusiast, I decided to perform a taste test and determine which of these new flavors reins supreme. Ben & Jerry’s has truly outdone itself with their new “core flavors.” So, grab your spoons because these amazing flavors are almost impossible to resist. Although they may be harder to find than your typical pint of ice cream, trust me the search is worth it!
First up: Spectacular Speculoos Cookie Core
This flavor is a combination of dark caramel and vanilla ice creams with speculoos cookies and a speculoos cookie butter core. Every bite of this was delicious and full of flavor. The cookie butter flavor is magically enhanced with the dark caramel and vanilla ice creams, making every bite amazingly decadent. The flavor, as well as the appearance, surely did not disappoint!
Next Up: Peanut Butter Fudge Core
This frozen treat is a split between chocolate and peanut butter ice creams with mini peanut butter cups and a peanut butter fudge core. If you’re a Reese’s fan, this flavor will be your dream come true. The creamy peanut butter and fudgey chocolate mixed with the crunch of the peanut butter cups makes every bite amazing and savory.
Lastly: Brownie Batter Core
This flavor is a split between chocolate and vanilla ice creams with fudge brownies and a brownie batter core. All I have to say about this is WOW! If you have a sweet tooth like me, you will fall in love with this flavor. The brownie bites are so fudgy and chewy making this flavor irresistible. You’ll wish you could have this flavor forever, but trust me, you’ll be lucky if it lasts even a week!
Verdict: So which is the best?
Looks like we saved the best for last because Brownie Batter Core was definitely the favorite. Nothing can top this fudgy decadent flavor filled with the comforting taste of brownie in each and every spoonful.
Spectacular Speculoos Cookie Core was a close second. The flavor and combination were delicious, and the beautiful core made it that much more enjoyable.
While peanut butter fudge was still delicious, it didn’t beat our Brownie Batter Core and Spectacular Speculoos Cookie Core. The peanut butter fudge flavors were outstanding, don’t get me wrong; however, it was a chocolate and peanut butter overload and may have been a little too much.
All of these flavors were delicious, and I recommend hurrying to your nearest supermarket to get them before they’re all gone! If the rest of the Ben & Jerry’s core flavors are as good as the three that I tried, Ben & Jerry’s has done an outstanding job of reinventing this traditional sweet treat.
