USC is Waiting for Me

I have been a part of the Newspaper Club since freshman year and I have loved every moment of it. Writing for The Thunderbird has allowed me to meet fellow classmates who share the same interests and has helped me grow as a writer. I have also learned how to collaborate with others, which is definitely a lesson I will be taking with me throughout college and beyond.

As my high school experience is coming to a close, I now have the opportunity to reflect back on the last four years. I have definitely made memories with friends and family, but I have also had my fair share of failures. The number one lesson that I have learned from these past few years is to follow your passions no matter the obstacles you come across. High school is where you can begin to discover your interests and who you are as a person. So join that club and don’t be afraid to introduce yourself to new people. You do not want to think that you have wasted some potential or missed out on an opportunity.

Now, this may seem obvious, but make sure to enjoy these years in high school. Cherish the moments you spend with your friends, family, and teachers because before you know it, it will be time to say goodbye. When I was a freshman, I wanted to be like the seniors and I wanted high school to be over already. As a senior now, I look at the underclassmen and I wish I was younger and could relive some of the moments from the last few years. I wish all future 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th graders the best of luck!
