December is the time of the year where all of the holiday festivities take place. The cold weather and holidays such as Christmas, Chanukah, Kwanzaa, and many more, fill everyone with excitement and eagerness. Christmas, in particular, includes many different holiday activities such as gingerbread house decorating, decorating Christmas trees, exchanging gifts, and watching Christmas movies. One of the best celebrations is gingerbread house making. Everyone enjoys making these gingerbread houses that fill you with a feeling of warmth and joy. This year, High School East is extending this exciting festivity to the community. The PTA is holding a gingerbread house contest in which anyone can participate. No matter which holiday you celebrate, they encourage everyone to enter. The rules are… decorate a Gingerbread cookie or house, be creative, and have fun! When finished, email your photo to firstname.lastname@example.org and please include your name, grade, and permission to post your name and photo on their Instagram and Facebook pages. The winners will receive a $25.00 Visa gift card. The winners will also be announced at the end of December. NAHS (National Art Honor Society) is also encouraging everyone to compete and all of their members are participating as well! This challenge not only gives you the chance to win a prize but also celebrate time with family doing a fun activity during the holidays!
