Hills East Speech and Debate Team Goes to States

By Kasim Waqar

On April 29th and 30th, the Half Hollow Hills Speech and Debate Team, advised by Mrs. McCormack and Mrs. Mahoney, competed in the New York State Forensic League Championship Tournament at Hofstra University. The team competed against the best of the best from over 15 schools across the entire New York State. Adam Wilk said, “The competition was really strong at states, but the team really showed up and put in the time and effort to succeed. We had teams finish as high as 2nd place in the state, as well as top 10 and top 20 finishers.” Good job team! The coaches and the whole school are very proud!
